How to choose an air purifier

发布时间:2023-05-24

1.Consider the use environment and effects

In addition to the air purifier's own function of purifying the air, different products also have their own main functions. If the indoor smoke pollution is heavy, you can choose to buy an air purifier equipped with HEPA air filter material and catalytic activated carbon.

HEPA is one of the most advanced air filter materials in the field of indoor air purification. It can filter and absorb fine pollutants well, and has a strong purification ability for smoke, inhalable particles, bacteria and viruses.

Catalytic activated carbon has a better purification effect on odors and harmful gases; if the room has just been decorated and needs to remove formaldehyde, you should buy a purifier that removes formaldehyde.

If there is less smoke and dust in the room and the requirements for the indoor air environment are higher, a plasma air purifier can be used. Plasma air purifier is an air purification device that sterilizes and disinfects indoor air, and can also remove inhalable particulate matter and various biological odors.

In addition, there are ultra-quiet series products suitable for bedrooms, products with safety lock function suitable for children, etc. When purchasing, you should choose an air purifier with suitable functions on the basis of clarifying your own needs.

2.Check the condition of the filter

Among the air purifiers currently on sale, most of the products use filters to purify the air. Therefore, when purchasing an air purifier, you must pay special attention to the type and quality of the filter.

A good filtering material (such as HEPA high-density filter material) has a higher ability to adsorb pollutants above 0.3 microns. At the same time, due to the use of filtering, adsorption, and catalytic principles in purifiers over time, the filter liner in the air purifier tends to saturate after a period of use, and the purification capacity of the equipment decreases. It is necessary to replace the new filter screen in a timely manner, as the filter screen can only function after reaching its limit, Not only can it not purify the air, but it may also cause secondary air pollution.

3. Pay attention to cost performance

In terms of removing particulate matter, the performance and price of an air purifier are not necessarily related, and high prices and high performance are not necessarily completely equal. Therefore, when purchasing an air purifier, consumers don't have to be greedy for high price, but should choose the corresponding model according to their actual needs.

Taking a civil building with a floor height of 2.4 meters to 2.6 meters as an example, assuming that the area is 60 square meters, the applicable area of the purifier can be estimated by CADR under normal circumstances. The formula is: applicable area = CADR × k, the value of k (0.1-0.15 ), for a site of 60 square meters, products with a CADR value of (400-600) m3/h can be considered. If it is too low, the purification effect will not be achieved, and if it is too high, it will cost more investment and consume more energy.

4.Pay attention to three highs and one low

The new national standard for air purifiers stipulates the four parameters of CADR value, CCM value, noise and energy efficiency level. The purifiers produced according to the new national standard standard have the values of these parameters and applicable area marked on the product manual .

Consumers can check the main functions of the product and whether the usable area is what you need by reading the manual. Under normal circumstances, we can choose according to the three high and one low standards. CADR value (high), CCM value (high), energy efficiency level (high), noise (low). If you buy it for home use, it is recommended to start with a model that is produced according to the new national standard and meets the energy-saving subsidy standard.
